Pigment-Based Printer Inks

The Canon PFI-1000 inks offers a broad colour range to deliver exceptional image quality, vibrant colours with stunning details and amazing black and white images. The high quality ink ensures you can print monochrome or full-colour photos. The cartridges use industry standard pigment based inks that ensure a fade resistant, long print life (up to 200 years) when printed on the recommended paper and properly stored in a light proof container. The included Chroma Optimiser ink cartridge ensures professional print quality with natural colours and uniform glossiness. The Chroma Optimiser coating creates an evenly reflected surface with smoother tonal gradations and enhanced black density levels.

The Canon Pro 10 and Pro 9500 Lucia pigment ink range is the first inkjet printing system with a full-spectrum colour system with both additive and subtractive colours. Canon's Lucia pigment inks combine the glossiness of dye ink with the vivid, brilliant colours and weather resistance of pigment inks. This combination allows bright, vivid colours to be printed on a variety of media types, including glossy paper. The colours in the Lucia pigment range are complemented by photo black, matte black and photo grey inks for high quality black and white prints. The grey ink has been developed to reduce the photo phenomenon known as metamerism, where composite grey inks (usually a combination of cyan, magenta and yellow inks) make image areas look different under different lighting conditions (such as sunlight, fluorescent light etc) - an aberration due to the difference in spectral reflectance properties of each of the composite colours. These are archival quality inks that possess permanence ratings in excess of 100 years for colour images and over 200 years for black and white images when using selected Canon Photo and Fine Art Paper.
