A range of various waxes for fabric dyeing.
Beeswax: An easy to use, flexible pelleted wax. Ideal for achieving an effect where the dye does not penetrate -i.e. does not produce a crackle effect.
Microwax: A ready mixed yellowish wax with the same covering ability as beeswax but cheaper and more resistant to alkaline solutions. Melts at 82/850C and had low viscosity, flows quickly and adheres well to cloth.
Batik Wax: A mixture of beeswax and parrafin wax. Easy to use.
Parrafin Wax: Easy to use. Ideal for producing the characteristic crackle effect associated with batik work.
Soy Wax: Cleaner burning than most waxes and does not give off obnoxious fumes. Remove from fabric in hot soapy water. It has a lower melting point than other waxes, so is safer to use. Non-toxic.
