Manufactured from 100% cotton, completely acid free with no optical brighteners. Available in a range of surfaces to suit every watercolourists need.
Cold Pressed: The most versatile grain. Easy to work with and particularly light so enhances the brightness of transparent colours. The paper absorbs pigments well and the beautiful blurred effects on the wet surface are pleasing to the eye. This grain is interesting for smudging colours and dry brushing, as it is close to rough in texture and ideal for maintaining white areas.
Torchon (extra rough): An extra rough paper with an interesting texture, presenting a ‘round’ grain that allows pictorial and other special effects to be obtained. The paper also handles scratches well for highlights or graphic effects.
Cloud Texture: The ripples on the surface give the effect of waves or clouds which adds motion to skies, landscapes and marine work. Your watercolours get a ‘wild’ effect.
Soft Pressed: This surface is ideal for precision work but is less slippery and delicate, combining the benefits of cold and hot pressed papers. The paper can handle some reworking and erasures and will actually handle you washing off areas colour. It works particularly well with pen and ink.
Hot Pressed: This type of paper gives you great control over the water and pigments and the drying time is ideal of illustration and detailed work. The smooth surface is very pleasant to work with and allows the artist to layer colour without disturbing the initial layers.
