Founded in 1670, J. Herbin is one of the oldest names in formal ink production in the world. The company's history can be traced back to a French sailor named Jacques Herbin, who drew on the techniques and innovations found on his voyages to establish himself as a master wax maker, later expanding into the production of ink and fine stationery.
Inspired by the city where it all began, The Colours of Paris collection captures the timeless charm of Paris through 8 exclusive ink shades, note books and postcards — each one a poetic journey through the streets and landmarks of Jacques Herbin’s birthplace.
The Colours of Paris inks are presented in a 30ml glass bottle that has a square shape with a groove on top that can be used as a pen rest. These bottles are known as "D" bottles, which refers to the old French unit of measure "la Demi Courtine." Suitable for use with fountain pens, rollerball pens and glass pens.
The matching notebooks are sized A5 and contain 32 pages (16 sheets) of 120gsm, lined, ivory paper, and the postcards measure 105x148mm
